Success Story – Chenchamma
Mrs. Chenchamma, a resident of the village and a beneficiary of the Drinking Water Hand Pump Borewell Program, shared her heartfelt gratitude for this initiative.
Before the borewell was installed in her locality, Chenchamma and other women in the village had to walk a long distance every day to collect water. Sometimes they had to wait for hours near other water sources, which made their daily routine very difficult. During summer seasons, the situation became even more challenging as water sources would dry up.
With the support of SPEECH, a hand pump borewell was installed in their village, bringing great relief to the community.
Chenchamma expresses her happiness saying that now her family has easy access to clean and safe drinking water near their home. She no longer has to spend long hours fetching water, and the time saved helps her focus on taking care of her family and household work.
She also shared that the availability of safe drinking water has improved the health and hygiene of her family. Chenchamma sincerely thanked SPEECH for bringing this valuable support to their village.
