Immediate response includes distribution of food, drinking water, emergency shelter, medical aid, and essential supplies to affected families. The programme also supports rehabilitation through livelihood restoration, housing repair, and psychosocial care to help communities recover and rebuild. Special attention is given to children, women, elderly, and persons with disabilities during disaster response. Preparedness and resilience-building activities are promoted to reduce future risks and strengthen community capacity. Through compassionate, timely, and coordinated action, the programme helps disaster-affected communities regain stability, dignity, and hope.
