Success Story – Renuka
One of the inspiring beneficiaries of the program is Mrs. Renuka, a woman from a poor family who struggled to support her household financially. Due to limited education and lack of employment opportunities, she depended entirely on irregular income sources for survival.
Renuka enrolled in the Tailoring Training Program conducted by SPEECH with great determination to learn a skill that could help her earn a livelihood. During the training period, she actively participated in all sessions and quickly learned various tailoring techniques including blouse stitching, simple dress making, and alterations.
After successfully completing the training, Renuka started stitching clothes from her home using the skills she acquired. With dedication and hard work, she gradually began receiving orders from neighbors and people in her community.
Today, Renuka is able to earn approximately ₹6,000 per month, which significantly supports her family’s daily needs such as food, education for her children, and household expenses.
Renuka’s journey is a powerful example of how skill training can transform lives and empower women economically. SPEECH is proud to see her progress and considers her a true success story of the Tailoring Training Program.
